Starting him young...

Colton decided it was time to start developing his game. He begged us to watch the "redeem team" , so he could model his game after his favorite players.

Yes, he really did watch the game for a few minutes. And quite intently if you ask me.

This kid already has moves like Kobe!

Perhaps he will be apart of this huddle in 2028.......

Mommy and Colton

I realized that I have no pictures of my son and I together! Of course we have some pictures of the two of us in the hospital but those pictures would burn your retinas (I am so huge in those pictures, I can't bear to look at them let alone subject you guys to it.). So, here are a few that I had Parker snap the other day. I just love Colton's face in the first picture.

More Colton.....

Colton has recently figured out hat he can grab toys with his hands. He doesn't do much more than swing his arms once they are in his hands but he thinks it's pretty fun. He has developed quite a grip! If he gets a hold of my fingers, it's only seconds before they turn white because he is squeezing the life out of them. Colton is starting to talk and laugh all the time. He is always smiling which of course makes Parker and I smile. He is all smiles the first half of the video but then he gets distracted by the camera.

Yes, his shirt has a picture of a beet and the quote underneath it says "and the beet goes on"

Twins Update

Now that I am back to my usual self (and have been for several weeks now) I have been watching the twins twice a week. It is crazy how much these girls can do now! They sit on their own and can even walk! Yes, I said walk. They have a new walker that is "U" shaped which has made all the difference. They hold on with one arm, and then they coordinate their steps. I got to see some walking a few days ago, I will work on getting a video because it is AMAZING to see!

The Bailey's are planning a trip to Seattle this October to visit with the doctors about seperation. It will be several days of testing and lots of doctor consultations. I know we are all anxious to hear whether or not the surgery can even be done.

Taylor can prop herself up onto one arm. I think it is only a matter of time until she can push herself up and over Emma (landing on the opposite side she started).

Taylor also loves Gushers fruit snacks. Especially the blue ones.

A REALLY cool blog:

Abbey (Parker's older sister) posted this blog on her site so, out of curiosity I took a peek at it. A looooooong peek! The recipes, the photos, the way she writes! This woman has got it together. I found thirty million (OK, not than many) new recipes I want to try and I officially want to be a cowgirl (you will see what I mean). Be prepared to look at her site longer than you intended, it's captivating.

The Wellness Check

Colton had his two month wellness check yesterday and he is as healthy as they come! He now weighs 13 pounds 11 ounces which puts him in the 90th percentile for weight. He has also stretched out to 24.5 inches, putting him in the 95th percentile for height! It's hard to believe that he has grown 3.5 inches and put on almost 5.5 pounds since he was born. That is just craziness. He did have to get three shots which just about broke my heart. I had to help hold his legs while the gave the shots and I couldn't hold back the tears. I have never seen him cry that hard. The nurse probably thought I was such softy when she noticed the tears running down my face. I think Parker is gonna have to go to the next appointment because I can't do that again.

In honor of being two months old, I think Colton decided it's time for him to start sleeping at night. He was quite fussy last night because of his shots, so when he fell asleep at 11, I just let him sleep even though I was supposed to feed him at 11:30. I had fed him at 9 in the evening and when he woke for his first feeding I was shocked. It was 4:45 in the morning! He went almost 8 hours, I couldn't believe it! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is going to become habit for him. I am a little nervous that the shots made him extra tired and that is what kept him sleeping for so long. I guess we will find out tonight.....

Grandpa Lybbert

Parker's dad was in town last weekend for a quick visit. It had been about 10 months since we have seen him last, so it was great to see him. For those of you who don't know, Parkers dad was a restaurant chef for several years and then he served a mission in France where he was able to perfect his cooking skills. Well, when I was 3 or 4 months pregnant with Colton I severely craved steak. Not just any steak, one cooked by Parker's dad. My dreams finally came through during his visit! He special ordered some steaks from a butcher and they were about two inches thick! Needless to say they were amazing! I don't think I will ever get a steak like that ever again. So amazing.

Three Years!

I am late in posting, our anniversary was the ninth of this month. I can't believe we have been married for three years! Time has gone so fast, it feels like we just got married a few months ago. We are more in love than ever and I can't begin to express how much fun we have together. Parker, thanks for the best three years of my life! I love you babe!

One Month Old Photo

Here is the picture from a month ago (he was about a week old), you can see his outfit is a little baggy.

The one month old picture. Look how short the sleeves are! I think that was the last time I put him in that onesy because he can't stretch his legs out all the way. I can't believe how much bigger he got in just one month! He put on 3 pounds and 2 full inches...... so crazy.

1 Month Old!

I am a little late in posing but, Colton turned one month old last Saturday! I really can't believe how fast time is going. Colt is doing really great. He now weighs 11.4 pounds! He has put on 2.4 pounds in 15 days (I didn't know that was possible!) and he is 23 inches long. I had the gal measure twice because an inch and a half in two weeks didn't seem quite right but to my amazement it was true! This kid is growing like a weed! So, for weight he is in the 75% and height is the 90%! I don't know where this kid is getting the height but I hope it keeps up! We are loving this boy more everyday, I didn't know that I could love being a mother this much!

On a different note, we took Colton to the pool for the first time! He hardly made a sound the whole time. He loved laying next to Parker in the floaty thing I think that is because he was able to fall a sleep! It was really nice to get out of the house and not burn to death from the 110 degree weather!

Only one more week and I can hit the gym!

Sleeping next to dad!

Thanks to Austin and Nicole for the cute swim suit and hat!

That binky puts him right to sleep.

Thanks Dad!

As most of you know, my dad was able to come down the weekend Colton was blessed. We all had so much fun. Trip highlights included El Rico's (the best Mexican food you can get around here), playing the Wii, and of course Colton's blessing. I must say that watching my dad create Ichiro as a Mii on the Wii was about the funniest thing I have EVER seen! Thanks for visiting dad, we LOVED having you!

Colton's Blessing

Today was Colton's first Sunday at church and it was also his blessing day. Parker gave a very sweet blessing and I cried through the whole thing. Colton was awake through the whole thing and didn't make a sound...... he is such a good baby! We were very fortunate that my dad was able to come down from Seattle, we really enjoyed his company. Here are a few pictures from the day, the last one is my favorite. The tongue and pointed finger is classic!

3 Weeks Already?

I can't believe how fast time has gone! Colton looks much bigger to me although, I am sure he doesn't look a whole lot different to you. He is getting much stronger and he is already going about 4 hours between feedings at night (hopefully is stays that way!). We love him more everyday!

Question: How do you stay cool in 115+ degree weather?
Answer: Curl up in a cold, wet sink, cover your eyes, and sleep through it.

Thank You!

A special thanks to all of you who have given/sent gifts to baby Colton. I know he appreciates them and even more, his parents appreciate them! I don't have pictures with everyones gifts (I will work on that) however, I do have two.

I love my puppy Aunt Shelly!

Aunt Lyndsey has made bath time more fun with hooded towels!

Colton's Two Week Appointment

Yesterday Colton had his two week visit with the pediatrician. I am happy to report that he is a really healthy baby. He is now 9 pounds which is crazy. He has put on 12 ounces in 10 days! The doctor said I do a really good job feeding him which makes me laugh when I think about it. They also measured him and he is now 21.5 inches long, he has put on a half inch since birth. That puts him in the 70% for weight, and the 75% for height.

I also had an appointment 2 days ago. Doctor said my incision is healing nicely which is a relief. I still get some serious pain when I twist or bend but other than that, I back to normal activity. Well, I can't say I do a whole lot but, I am out and about. Hooray for everyone being healthy and happy!

This picture puts a smile on my face! I guess I caught him off guard.

Happy little baby..... not sure what is up with the flared nostrils. He always does that!

Uncle Dave's Quick Visit

Dave Walburger (Parker's brother in law) was flying through Phoenix on his way to Flagstaff last Friday so we all piled in the car to go see him during his layover. Dave is the last of the immediate family to see the twins in person. He held them the entire two hours of his layover (mind you, the twins weigh 40 pounds!), he never wanted to put them down. It was so sweet! On the way to the airport, we couldn't stop laughing at the car full we had. Four babies, and four adults. It was one packed car!

You can also see the twins new car seat. I guess it isn't so "new" anymore however, it works great and it would definitely save their lives in a car wreck. The only way I can think to compare it to is a regular infant car seat. It has a harness system like a regular car seat, this one straps them in laying down rather than sitting up. It was engineered by a very kind man in Utah, he did the whole thing for free.

I have ankles again!

I took these pictures a few days ago and I am finally getting around to posting them. I don't think I need to explain the pictures but, in case you don't remember, my legs and ankles used to be extremely swollen. It is so nice to have my legs back! The swelling was gone in about a week and a half and it is always a complete shock to look down and see ankle bones and tendons. In fact, the other day Parker and I were admiring my "new" legs and he exclaimed "Look how long your toes are!" I started laughing because they sure didn't grow longer overnight. They look longer because they are not fat little sausages anymore! Oh, sweet ankles.

Happy Fathers Day!

It is Parker's first official Fathers Day with an actual child! I am so proud to call him my husband and it makes me so happy that we have a little boy together. Parker is a great dad! He does such a great job with Colton and even better, he makes sure that I am well taken care of. Just last night, Colton was fussing while I was trying to get to bed. Parker came right in and grabbed him, settled him, and then put him back down, all to make sure I got a good nights rest. Parker, without me having to ask, gets up and grabs Colton in the middle of the night so I can nurse him. Not to mention the countless number of diapers that he changes, both day and night. I have a great husband, I am proud to call him mine!

Like father, like son. Look at those pouty faces!

I am working on getting a serious picture of the two of them!

New Look

I figured we needed a boyish looking background in honor of the new baby boy!
