Halloween!

It was so fun to have a kid to dress up this year! My mom bought Colton this cute lion costume and I thought it would be a great idea for Parker and I to dress as lion tamers. We had tons of compliments on our matching outfits! A nice elderly lady came and told us that she thought I was carrying a stuffed animal, but then she noticed the head wiggling around! She was surprised to see Colton's little face under all that fur. We had a blast going out to dinner and then wandering the mall. We celebrated both Halloween and my birthday tonight. I am the proud owner of a few new pieces of clothing and ROCK BAND! We love playing Rock Band on the wii, i will have to post some pictures of that in the next few days!

Cutest lil' lion I've ever seen!

ExerSaucer Fun

Colton LOVES this exersaucer! I think the best part is the fact that it was FREE! Our landlords neighbor was cleaning out their garage and our landlord grabbed it for us (Thanks Tina!!!). We picked it up, wiped it down and it has been put to good use. Colton uses it several times a day and it certainly helps with his dexterity and head control. He is getting so strong!

I heart his blue eyes.

Discovery Channel

Most of you know that Discovery channel has done a documentary on the conjoined twins down here in Arizona. The program, called Two Sisters, One Heart, airs the 22nd (Wednesday) at 8 and 11 p.m. on the Discovery Health channel. That is Comcast channel #220 down here but I do not know if that is universal, so check your local listings. The Bailey family has been in Seattle for the past two weeks and has received more information on the girls condition, life expectancy, and the option of separation. There is a small window of opportunity to separate the girls but nothing has been decided. Please be sure to keep the Bailey family in your prayers as they have some big decisions to make in the next few months.

P.S. I don't know if Parker and I are in the documentary, but just know that I was pregnant during the taping. That will explain my large-and-in-charge-ness!

First Haircut

Colton got his first hair cut! Whitni (my sister) took some great photos of Colton (to be posted soon) while we were in Texas and in order to make sure the pictures turned out the very best, Colton had to get his hair cut. He was born with a decent amount of hair and for some reason, it was crazy long down the middle. I have to admit, I should have cut it sooner, it was really long! Colton didn't mind the clippers at all. I was thinking the noise and vibration would have frightened him but he didn't care one bit.

Two words: Mini Parker.

This picture makes me laugh. I love how nervous he looks, too cute!

A Trip to the Zoo

Parker's older sister, Leslie, lives in Austin Texas and my sister lives in Dallas. We really wanted to meet up but the distance was making things difficult. Leslie had the marvelous idea of meeting in Waco for the day which is right in the middle of the two cities. My sister, Whitni, so kindly drove me down so that could have the chance to see Leslie and her kids. We all enjoyed a day at the zoo together and it was great getting to catch up with Leslie. Her kids are so well behaved and well mannered, they were such a joy to be around!

This Jaguar was right up against the glass. It was really cool to see up close!

Save a horse, ride a ....... long horn cow???

Only in Texas folks. Whitni took me over to Fort Worth Texas for the day and we watched then heard cattle down the street. It was such a kick watching the cowboys take all the cattle down main street and then back into their barn, or stable, or wherever the cows stay. Anyhow, the experience made Texas come alive for me. It was really the coolest thing I had seen in a long time.

It cost 5$ to take this pictures. The guy who owns this cow made a fortune.

Main street in Fort Worth.

This is the cattle going down main street. So cool.

A kind cowboy taking a minute to pose with us.

These boots are inside M.L. Leddy's. This is the finest leather shop in all of Texas. I wanted to buy a pair of cowboy boots, but then I learned the average pair was $1,200! My dreams came to an end when I almost choked on my gum when I heard the price. The store was so big. Wall to wall boots.

Playin' with Plato

Asher loves to play with his plato. I jumped right in because this stuff takes me back to my childhood big time! I remember my mom making plato from scratch . Anyhow, we had a lot of fun. Too much fun!

Here is Asher with his "holes" and myself with my deer.

If this isn't funny, you need to see Kung Fu Panda!

A Taste of Texas

As most of you know, I spent the last two weeks in Texas with my older sister, Whitni. We had such a blast! Here are a few pictures from my favorite meal of the trip. Best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. It was located down town and it was kind of a hole in the wall, but man, best BBQ of my life!

Here we are enjoying our lunch. This place had so much character. Just look at all the fun stuff on the walls.

Asher really loved the BBQ sauce, his shirt was covered by the end of lunch! Here he is showing Colton how he cuts paper (apparently he loves to cut things) without a shirt because his bright white shirt was being treated for stains.

4 Months

I can't believe it has been four months! I know I say that every time I do the monthly picture but man, time goes so fast! Colton had his four month check up and everything looks good. He is now 15 pounds 14 ounces (75%) and 26 inches long (90%)! He is thinning out a little bit but, you can't tell with those cheeks. I guess that is where he carries his weight. Anyhow, Colton is progressing nicely. He has rolled over, smiles, laughs, coos, grabs anything put in front of him, and holds his head up like a champ. He is constantly putting his hands in his mouth and pulling my hair and earrings (not a fame of the earring pulling). Whit has been helping me with getting him to sleep through the night. Unfortunately, his internal clock wont quit, the results are me letting him cry it out in the middle of the night. I think it is working but he still wakes up once and cries for quite some time. Hopefully that will change soon and I think it will. Colton makes me smile everyday, he is such a joy to have around!

A Week With the Babcock Kids

These last few weeks have gone by SO FAST! I was in Utah the week of the 13-19 (September) and then I went to Texas the 21-5 of October. So, for all of you wondering why I haven't been blogging, there is your reason! The first week I was in Texas my sister, Whitni, and I took care of my brothers kids. My brother and his lovely wife took a cruise and Whitni volunteered to take care of their kids while they took a ride on the high seas. My brother decided that she needed some help so they flew me out! I was happy to go and happy to help. Here is the week in a nutshell. We took the kids to Bonkers (an indoor play land which was awesome), Chuckee Cheese, story time at the library, kindermusik (music for toddlers), the park, super smash brothers on the Wii, plato, coloring, and lots of toys!

The crew of kids.

Feeding (count it) 40 ducks!

Whitni, Brent, Asher, and I wishing the Babcock's a safe drive back to Kansas.

Dr. and Mrs. Babcock on the cruise. Such a lovely couple! I wonder what it would be like to be 5'0, 93 pounds and wear a size 1.5 shoe. Yes, that is the size of my sister in law. Can you say jealous?

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

I decided that the time had come for me to donate my hair. My friend Joy told me about a super posh salon that cuts your hair for free when you donate it. I got a great cut for free.99! I love the cut although she did kind of mess it up in the back. There seems to be a small chunk missing in the back...... weird. I love donating my hair, I always picture the wig on some adorable 10 year old girl. I hope I can keep making donations as the years go on.

On the way to the salon.

3 Months Old

Time is going so fast! I think I say that every time I post a picture of Colton each month. But really, 3 months? Colton is eating more (A LOT more) and sleeping a little better every week. He is good for about a 5-6 hour chunk and then he wakes up because he kicks out of his blankets. I go get him re-wrap him and then he sleeps another 2 hours before needing to be fed. How I wish he didn't wake up till' he needs to be fed! We are working on it. He doesn't have his wellness check until he is four months old (next month) so I will get his height and weight for you then.

Lovin' that Bumbo. He is starting to hold his head up all the time.

3 Months Old. These jammies are much tighter in the legs than they were a month ago. We are moving into 6-9 month old sizes!

Sunday Disaster

This last Sunday I had to give a talk so Parker had Colton were down in the congregation while I sat on the stand. Toward the end of the meeting, I see Colton get handed from one of our good friends Trisha over to Parker. Then, Parker jets up and is carrying Colton with out stretched arms out of the chapel. I couldn't figure out what was going on until he came back. Trisha (who was sitting in the same row as Parker) was laughing hysterically! I looked over at Parker and he looks at me and I mouth "throw up?" he looks at me, shakes his head and mouths back "his butt exploded everywhere!" I couldn't contain myself, I was laughing through the closing hymn because what are the chances? The one time I speak and don't have the baby he explodes all over Parker. To top it off, It got all over Parker's really nice suit (and I mean REALLY nice suit) and shirt. The poo covered all of Colton's clothes (new clothes too) the pew and Parker. I think the best part was Parker's explanation of what happened "It volcanoed out of the back of his diaper!" So sick, so wrong, we went home after Sacrament.

On a lighter note, Colton is trying really hard to either crawl or roll over. I'm sure this video will be kind of lame for you, but I felt like I needed to document the occasion.

a MUST see video

Parkers' mom recently sent us the link to this amazing video. Each year the Mesa Temple puts on an Easter pageant which I hear is amazing, although we have never seen it. A photographer was given permission to photograph cast members for an exhibit, called Reflections of Christ, that was going to be put up in the visitors center. The photographer and cast members travelled around Arizona to shoot photos in places that looked like Israel. This slide show is beautiful. Get ready to cry, I think I lasted about 1 minute 46 seconds before the first tear rolled down my cheek. Keep in mind that these are photos, not paintings.
