Colton always watches me unload the dishes and on this day, he decided he was going to help. I was having a panic attack for the thirty seconds I let him help. After he pulled out a dish he dropped it on the floor.

Sewing Projects

I have recently taken up sewing (I know, I am surprised too) and done a few projects over the last several weeks. Here is what I have done:

This is a diaper and wipes case. No woman likes diapers floating in her bag so this is a case to hold the diapers and the wipes. I think it's pretty cute. I have made several of these for friends and sisters.

We recently moved into a new apartment and our long curtains weren't usable so I hacked them off and hemmed them to a new length. Not a tough project but, they turned out nicely!

This was my latest and hardest project. I have the worst maternity skirts so I decided to make my own! I found this super awesome pattern here, it has over 30 pictures to help you see what you are doing step by step. I knocked it out in about 3 hours (I spent an hour trying to thread the bobbin.... don't ask.... I am STILL mad about it!) and was able to wear it to church the next day! Next time I will make a smaller size so it doesn't have to be as long. Hooray for fun projects!

A Day at the Zoo

Idaho Falls has a really cute zoo. It's the perfect size, you can see the whole zoo in about an hour and a half and to be honest, it only has the animals that matter (lion, monkeys, bears etc.) which makes it easy to navigate because you don't have to avoid the weird exhibits. Colton enjoyed running around and seeing new all the animals although I don't think he really knew what was going on. We will certainly be going down there more often seeing as it was only ten bucks for all of us!

Uh Oh

Parker plays pick up (basketball) at the school several times a week. He made it through the entire semester injury free until this:

 HE GOT THIS THE WEEK OF FINALS! He was hurtin' and gimpin' around campus. Not to mention the fact that we moved the week after this happened. Poor guy. He went for a lay up and some rookie undercut him.

It's a boy!

Only two of you guessed right! I had my ultrasound today and everything looked perfect! The little dude is healthy and growing just as he should. The doctor said I am right on track for my due date and I will probably be delivering some time around December 15th. I am a planned C-Section (Colton was also a C-Section) which is good because this baby is breach! He has plenty of time to turn around but the doctor said that it's not all that common for them to turn after 20 weeks. Parker and I are super happy about having another boy, although I am feeling seriously out-numbered! We are working on a name, we have a couple we like. I will post once we solidify the name we want. I have a couple ultra sound pictures that I will try to post, the lady doing the ultra sound got a really cute profile (I don't think ultra sound pictures are that cute, so it must look pretty good). Things have been really crazy around here because we moved apartments and I don't have access to internet quite yet. With all that aside, we are all really excited for baby boy number two!

A Lybbert Reunion!

A few days after I got home from Seattle, Parker and I headed up to Yellowstone to attend the Lybbert family reunion. It was such a blast being with all of Parker's family! The cabin we were able to stay in was located in Island Park, and it slept at least 25 people comfortably. All the grandkids had a blast running around together while the adults enjoyed delicious food and fun games. All of us enjoyed a day in Yellowstone (Parker and I got to see some elk, bison, bald eagles, deer, and a bear!), a day at Mesa Falls, and a day playing at the river (some of the boys floated the river and got to see a moose and her baby!). It was such a fun time, I am already looking forward to the next reunion!

A Babcock Girls Reunion

My mom recently had a birthday and all of us girls decided we needed to fly in and surprise her on her big day! We all loved seeing her face when each of us showed up one by one. It was so much fun being around all my sisters and my dear mother, that hasn't happened since mine and Parker's wedding 4 years ago. The week was full of good fun and good food. Because of this fun week. we decided we need to get together yearly from here on out!

Happy Four Years

Today is Parker and I's wedding anniversary. These last four years have flown by and I have loved every minute of our marriage. I married a great man and he has exceeded all expectations of a loving husband and father. Here are a few pictures from our wedding and the two of us through out the last few years.

Expecting Number Two

For those who haven't heard through the grapevine, Parker and I are expecting our second baby! I am due December 21, but with having another C-section, the little one will probably arrive a week prior to that date. I am currently 16 weeks along and super excited to find out the gender of our baby. We find out the next appointment which is set for August 4th. I am starting to feel a little movement here and there which makes it even more exciting, and real. These two will be 18 months apart. Wish me luck!

A Tribute to our Boy

We made a video with out favorite pictures and video clips of Colton in his first year. We made it for ourselves (and of course for Colton when he gets older), but perhaps you will enjoy it as well.

Colton's First Birthday

I am way late in posting these pictures because I have been super sick all week. Colton turned 1 on June fifth and we had quite a celebration. The first few pictures are from the day of his birthday. We celebrated with an dinner at Wendy's. Colton would eat chicken nuggets and fries every meal if I let him! After that we went to WalMart to spend some of his birthday money that was sent from grandparents. The next day we had his birthday party. It was supposed to be outside at a park but we got rained out so we had it at our apartment. We had about 8 kids (all under age 5!) and at least 8-10 adults. Colton ate all the frosting off his cupcake but didn't eat the actual cake part, he opted for Cheetos instead. It was really fun to get to know different couples in our ward and it was nice to have help cleaning up at the end! Overall, I would say it was a great success!

Our President Eyring Encounter



Sorry for this lengthy post..... I wanted to make sure it was well documented!

Parker and I were driving to church today when I noticed a man walking down the street. I turned to Parker and said "That man looks exactly like President Eyring!". Parker slowed down and took a good look and said "That's because it totally is President Eyring!". We both giggled and tried to figure out what to do. I really, REALLY wanted to go shake his hand so, Parker turned the car around and we pulled up to the house he was exiting. I had my hand on the door handle but chickened out. I mean, it's kind of odd to go walk up to a strangers home and request to speak to the a prophet who was now sitting in this stranger's car. I missed my chance to go talk to him so I turned to Parker and asked what we should do. After a short discussion, we decided we better follow him! We figured he was going to a chapel or to the school to go speak in a ward sacrament meeting. We thought when he pulled up to the church building we would jump out and say thank you. He was the sole reason we stayed in Arizona, he gave us a promise that the Spirit confirmed while he spoke in our Stake in Queen Creek. Because we stayed in Arizona, we were able to get pregnant with Colton, we made life long friends, and Parker did some serious missionary work while serving as the ward mission leader. We owe this man a "thank you" because his words were literally life changing for us. Anyhow, we followed his car and it turns out that they drove straight to another home in Rexburg. We pulled up next to the house and again, my hand was on the door and I couldn't bring myself to open it and go say hello. Parker said "We've got to go now before we miss him!". We were just seconds too late, he had already made his way into the house. Parker said "Excuse me, President Eyring?" but, again, he couldn't hear him because he was already almost inside. We contemplated whether or not to wait for him or head to church. We decided that leaving a note would be a good compromise. We wrote a thoughtful note and thanked him for inspiring us to move to Arizona. I emptied out one of Colton's bags of snacks, put the note inside, and left it on the windshield of the car. I hope he gets the note...... but whether he does or not, it was fun to follow around President Eyring for a half an hour.

Laundry Time

Colton LOVES to play in the clean laundry. Yesterday, he got my sports bra stuck on his arms, and around his back. It was too funny! I am sure he will have an outstanding love for me when he sees these pictures when he is 16..... on a lighter note, he turns ONE on FRIDAY! Time is flying and my baby is growing up! Anyhow, we are having a birthday party for him at Porter Park (see the invite on the top of the blog) it is going to be very relaxed with food and fun. All are welcome, hope to see you there!

Memorial Day

I spent a large portion of Memorial day thinking about the men and women who have served and those who currently serve our country. I watched a few Memorial day specials on T.V. and then wanted to go visit graves of those men and women who made the ultimate sacrafice. With Colton needing naps and plenty of bad timing among other things, I didn't get to make it out of the house. However, the years to come will be spent honoring those who gave all. We spent memorial day afternoon with our neighbors that live below us. They are a young couple with a 2 year old boy so our situations are quite similar. We went to the Porter Park which is the best park EVER! It has a great layout: basketball court, tennis court, shaded area with trees, a big open field for soccer/football, a jungle gym/swing/slides, a carousel, and a splash park. Seriously, best park ever! We spent a few hours at the park having lunch and playing at the water area. Colton loved the water until he got a face full of water..... after that he didn't have much to do with it. It was a great day spent with great friends. Hope you all had a wonderful memorial day.
