Totalled

Yesterday was the first day off that Parker had in a LONG time! He has been working 6 days a week since the beginning of basketball season so, in celebration of a day off, we decided to go out to dinner. Parker was driving us up to Red Robin when we got into a car accident. Thankfully, we have a bigger car so all of us were just fine (Colton included). We were looking at a bridge when Parker rear ended the car in front of us. Before we hit the car, he noticed the car in front of us and took his foot off the gas, then looked in the rear view mirror in order to look at the bridge one last time and just forgot to apply the brake. When he looked up he only had about 10 feet to react and we were still going about 25 miles an hour. He swerved the car the best he could but we nailed the rear, right side of a small Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo was totalled, it crumpled like a pop can. The trunk of the Aveo was smashed in really good but the frame of the car was all jacked. He couldn't close any of his doors because the frame was bent. Our car doesn't look too bad. It certainly has some body work to be done (bumper and hood for sure) and the engine is going to need some serious work. The radiator and water pump both got smashed in, there was coolant all over the road. We haven't heard back from the auto body and mechanic with an estimate on the damage with our car. I don't think our car is worth more than five thousand so, it could also be totaled. This is a huge bummer seeing as we are supposed to leave for Rexburg in a matter of weeks. We have EXCELLENT insurance (special shout out to Brant for helping us buy exceptional coverage!) and they have been amazing through the whole process. We are car-less for now but we will be sure to update everyone when we hear back about our car. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

I did take pictures of the cars but, I can't load them because of our computer situation. As soon as we get a cord, I will get them up.

Dude, so sad. I suppse the reality of insurance is you can't live with it, and you certainly can't live without it.

Also, a special shout out for carseats. Glad your little pumpkin (and both of you) are safe.
