Two Weeks

It has been two weeks since we have been blessed with little Paxton! He is such a cute little guy, we are loving every minute of having him in our family. I took him to the doctor this morning for his two week check up and the doctor said he is doing wonderful! He is now 9 pounds 4 ounces (he has gained two full pounds in 11 days!) and has stretched out to 21.5 inches (grown one full inch since birth).

By the way, Colton loves being a big brother!

Christmas Morning

Colton didn't wake up until ten o'clock Christmas morning which was a wonderful gift to his parents seeing as he went to bed at eight thirty the night before! Colton's face lit up when he turned the corner and saw all the presents waiting for him. After opening one gift, he immediately wanted to play with that one toy rather than open up more gifts. It took us a while to get him to open everything however, I think he really enjoyed getting some new toys!

Please, keep in mind that I had a baby just ten days before this picture....

All of Colton's gifts. Parker and I got him two or three nice toys, the rest came from lots of VERY nice people!

Playing with his new chain saw. We made sure to put the goggles on him. Safety first.

Opening up his stocking.

This is what Paxton did all morning.... he was quite sleepy.

Colton loves to snuggle with the cat. Moments before I took this picture he was full on choking MJ because he was squeezing so tight.

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas Day. I hope all of you enjoyed the same!

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve! Parker was home ALL DAY.... that was my Christmas miracle! No practice, no work, no errands. All four of us were home together all day, it was amazing! We spent the day relaxing and then made some sugar cookies in the evening. Colton was my honorary frosting eater... that seems to be his favorite part of the cookies.

My Mom bought a European Christmas tree for my hospital room and that is what we used for a Christmas tree this year. You can see the tree in the middle top part of the picture.

One Week Birthday

Yesterday was Paxton's one week birthday! He had a doctor's appointment on Saturday and these were his stats: Height 20.7 inches, 78% and Weight: 7.9 lbs., 44%

He eats a lot and can sleep through anything! Colton is very sweet to Paxton, he gives hugs and kisses to his baby brother daily. For the last two nights Paxton has only been up twice which has been really nice for me! I am getting quite a bit more sleep compared to the first few days of his life. We are excited for Christmas, especially since we have a new little guy joining us this year.

More Pics of Mr. Paxton

Just a few minutes old in this picture.

Colton loves to sneak into our room to catch a glimpse of his little brother sleeping.

A quick update on Paxton: We left the hospital yesterday afternoon and made it home safely. Paxton is Jaundice so we have a bili-blanket that has special lights to help with that. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow so I will have a new height and weight for you then!

Paxton Jordan Lybbert!!!

Born at 8:05 this morning...8lbs. 3oz. and 20 1/2 inches.  He is happy, healthy, strong, and fairly big.  They said he's pretty chesty (his chest measures the same as his head).  Grandpa Lybbert will be proud of that!!!  We think he looks a lot like Colton.  Can't tell yet what color his hair is...but that will come in the next week or so.  Mom and baby are both doing really well.  The surgery went flawlessly.  We're grateful for the fantastic doctors and anesthetist who performed so well.  Thanks for all your prayers!!!

Colton's 18 Months!

I can't believe I have an 18 month old kid.... and another one coming in just ONE WEEK! Colton had his doctors check up yesterday and he is developing perfectly! He is 33 inches and 21 pounds 12 ounces. That puts him in the 70% for height and the 4% for weight. His current favorite words are:
*Mommma
*Dad
* Go go go!
*Kitty

Funny things he does:
*If you ask him if your feet are stinky, he will bend down and take a big ol' sniff of your feet!
*He will stick his face in the water and pretend to swim while he is in the bath.
*If you ask him to show you his tough face, he scrunches his face and nose up (just like his angry face) on command.
*Anytime Parker says "I'm gonna get you!" He takes off running full speed down the hallway and goes and hides in our closet.
*If we are not sure whether or not he is ready for a nap, we just ask him and if he is tired, he runs to his crib and waits for you to pick him up and put him in!

Doctor's Appointment

I had a check up yesterday and everything is still looking good. The doctor was measuring my belly when he looked at me and said "You know, I am really glad we are doing a C-Section." I just giggled and said "Oh yeah, why's that?" And he replied with eyes the size of dinner plates "Because this is going to be a BIG baby. He will easily be pushing nine pounds by the time you deliver... I can't even imagine how big he would be if we let you go the full 40 weeks!" I didn't really have a response for that, I just laughed some  more. I have gained about 40 pounds this pregnancy which is down from 80 (no, that is not a typo) pounds with Colton. I was kind of thinking this baby would be smaller but I guess I am wrong. My date is still the same for delivery.... I am just crossing my fingers my water breaks early so I can get this kid out. I am basically carrying a 10 pound bag of potatoes around on my front side.... my back would like a break!

The Colton/Cougar Dance Off

Colton ALWAYS dances when he hears music. We have no idea where he picked it up but we always get a good giggle out of his smooth moves. We went to the boys basketball game where Parker coaches the JV girls and the pep band was playing some good tunes so Colton started to shake his groove thing. Although the team didn't win, we did get this gem of a video.... we tried hard to get Colton closer to the cougar mascot but that was as close as he would get without crying.

Coach Parker

Parker was recently hired to coach the JV girls basketball team at South Fremont high school. He really enjoyed coaching the boys in Arizona but, he LOVES coaching these girls! The team is 3-0 and going strong. Every game I get to watch the girls show vast improvement from the game before. They really seem to enjoy Parker and in return, Parker feels like he has 6 younger sisters. Parker always has great things to say about these girls after games and practice and the more I get to know them, the more attached to them I get.

Colton has made LOTS of new friends because of the basketball season. The varsity girls sit and watch the first half of the JV game before going and getting prepped for their own game. They really seem to love Colton which is nice for me because I actually get to watch a whole half of Parkers game while they play with him! They all let Colton listen to their iPod's and then giggle while he dances to the music. I love that they love Colton..... and my back likes that he doesn't have to sit on my lap for the whole game!

Do you like that Colton is completely surrounded by girls?!?! And no, as much as I wish that was Shelly sitting there with her mouth wide open, it isn't!

The first big snow!

It snowed about 5 inches yesterday during church! Colton was staring out the window and constantly pointing to the snow so we took him outside. He had lots of fun until he face planted. Here is a cute picture and a video of him running around. If you listen close to the video you will hear him say his new favorite phrase "Go, go!"

35 Week Appointment

I went in for my OB appointment and everything is going perfectly. The doctor told me that I am measuring two weeks ahead of schedule! The last appointment I had, I was measuring one week ahead and in two weeks, I have jumped to two full weeks. I have also started to have consistent braxton hicks so I am a little nervous this kid is going to be making an early appearance. The doctor didn't seem to be concerned, he just told me to be prepared on having a big baby! My next appointment is in two weeks..... I will be interested to see if I am still measuring this big.

Colton LOVES the Cats

Colton has been trying to snuggle with the cats lately...... however, the cats don't want to snuggle with him. He has been settling for giving them hugs, or just laying right on top of them. I'm just glad the cats tolerate getting every last bit of breath squeezed out of their body.

Ward Halloween Party

Last night we attended our ward's halloween party. It was tons of fun for both Parker and I, and Colton. Colton refused to eat anything but candy and sweets. It was turning into a battle to get him to eat dinner and because it was my birthday, I chose not to fight it. He was loving the sugar high! He stayed up really late but in return, he slept in until nine. Not a bad trade off! We recycled our costumes from last year and will be going out trick or treating tonight if it isn't too cold. Here is a short video of him trick or treating in the church building..... not the most exciting video but you can see how pregnant I am if you are curious to see. Happy Halloween everyone!

The End is Near

I had a doctors appointment yesterday and everything looks great! The doctor said I am measuring a full week ahead of schedule so they went ahead and scheduled my C-Section! Baby boy number two will be here December 15th! I can't believe how soon he will be here.... less than 50 days! I know some of you are thinking that is a ways off but with the holidays, he will be here in no time. We are super excited for his arrival and will keep you updated if there are any unexpected turn of events.

A Day at the Park

The weather is turning bitter cold and our days at the park are becoming limited. I love being able to set Colton loose at the park because he gets out so much energy! I am not sure what I will do with Colton once the snow and new baby comes.... leaving the house will not be a high priority!

Movie Night

Last Friday we decided to have family movie night. It consisted of bribing Colton with popcorn and Skittles in order to get him to sit still for 20 minutes and watching the movie Cars. We brought out the memory foam topper from our bed and then we put pillows and blankets down so we could all snuggle. It was tons of fun, even if it was only 20 minutes. As you can see, I am getting really pregnant! Nine more weeks to go....

A New Coat

Winter is here and so is Colton's new coat! I ordered it from Old Navy and this only cost me 20 bucks! It's thick and it should could him plenty warm for all the snowy days headed our way.

Look What We Woke Up To!

They say it is going to snow until noon (a few more inches) and then we are supposed to have a record low of 20 degrees tonight! Fall never happened this year, it skipped straight to winter. I am really excited to see snow, I just don't think I will be this excited to see it everyday until March, that seems to be the length of winter around here!

Saturday Night with Mom

Parker was busy Saturday night so Colton and I went on a date. We watched Finding Nemo (all ten minutes that he would sit still!) and shared some popcorn. Well, Colton kind of shared the popcorn. He insisted on keeping the bowl in his lap in his custom made bed. Yes, that is a laundry basket with a pillow and blanket. No, it wasn't my idea. He dragged the pillow and blanket over to the basket and I helped him set it up. He is such a funny kid!

Dancing King

Colton recently had his 15 month wellness check. He is perfectly healthy and progressing wonderfully both physically and mentally. He is 32 inches tall which puts him in the 75% and he is weighing a whopping 20.8 pounds... that puts him in the 5%! He's tall and skinny, something I wish I was. This kid eats anything and everything so I really don't understand how he could be lacking on weight. Colton's most recent obsession is Parker's iPod..... here he is in action:

Utah Trip

Parker and I recently got back from a trip to Utah where we met up with lots of friends and family. The main reason for the trip was to attend my cousin Kacey's wedding. The wedding was beautiful! It was great to see all my cousins (which I haven't seen in a few years) as well as Aunt's and Uncle's. The first two days were spent with Parker's family and I am embarrassed to say that I didn't take a single picture. The next three days were spent with my two sisters and mom. It was such a treat to see them! Parker was a trooper hanging out with women all day long! Needless to say, he and Colton did plenty of bonding! Here are a few pictures from the wedding:

The lovely stone family!

Lynds, Myself, Mom, Whit, Madsen and Asher in front of the Draper Temple.

The beautiful bride, Kacey. Raise your hand if you want her dress (I am raising my hand).

Kacey and her new man, Jake.

All the girl cousins in for a picture with the bride.

My Mom, Uncle Kevin, and Aunt Linda. These three are brother and sister.

Asher
, Madsen, Colton, and Kaitlyn.... all super happy about having their picture taken.

Colton loved playing/dancing with Parker at the reception.

Colton was having lots of fun dancing, then Aunt Whit started dancing and he got confused. It's a cute video!
