Two Weeks

It has been two weeks since we have been blessed with little Paxton! He is such a cute little guy, we are loving every minute of having him in our family. I took him to the doctor this morning for his two week check up and the doctor said he is doing wonderful! He is now 9 pounds 4 ounces (he has gained two full pounds in 11 days!) and has stretched out to 21.5 inches (grown one full inch since birth).

By the way, Colton loves being a big brother!

Christmas Morning

Colton didn't wake up until ten o'clock Christmas morning which was a wonderful gift to his parents seeing as he went to bed at eight thirty the night before! Colton's face lit up when he turned the corner and saw all the presents waiting for him. After opening one gift, he immediately wanted to play with that one toy rather than open up more gifts. It took us a while to get him to open everything however, I think he really enjoyed getting some new toys!

Please, keep in mind that I had a baby just ten days before this picture....

All of Colton's gifts. Parker and I got him two or three nice toys, the rest came from lots of VERY nice people!

Playing with his new chain saw. We made sure to put the goggles on him. Safety first.

Opening up his stocking.

This is what Paxton did all morning.... he was quite sleepy.

Colton loves to snuggle with the cat. Moments before I took this picture he was full on choking MJ because he was squeezing so tight.

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas Day. I hope all of you enjoyed the same!

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve! Parker was home ALL DAY.... that was my Christmas miracle! No practice, no work, no errands. All four of us were home together all day, it was amazing! We spent the day relaxing and then made some sugar cookies in the evening. Colton was my honorary frosting eater... that seems to be his favorite part of the cookies.

My Mom bought a European Christmas tree for my hospital room and that is what we used for a Christmas tree this year. You can see the tree in the middle top part of the picture.

One Week Birthday

Yesterday was Paxton's one week birthday! He had a doctor's appointment on Saturday and these were his stats: Height 20.7 inches, 78% and Weight: 7.9 lbs., 44%

He eats a lot and can sleep through anything! Colton is very sweet to Paxton, he gives hugs and kisses to his baby brother daily. For the last two nights Paxton has only been up twice which has been really nice for me! I am getting quite a bit more sleep compared to the first few days of his life. We are excited for Christmas, especially since we have a new little guy joining us this year.

More Pics of Mr. Paxton

Just a few minutes old in this picture.

Colton loves to sneak into our room to catch a glimpse of his little brother sleeping.

A quick update on Paxton: We left the hospital yesterday afternoon and made it home safely. Paxton is Jaundice so we have a bili-blanket that has special lights to help with that. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow so I will have a new height and weight for you then!

Paxton Jordan Lybbert!!!

Born at 8:05 this morning...8lbs. 3oz. and 20 1/2 inches.  He is happy, healthy, strong, and fairly big.  They said he's pretty chesty (his chest measures the same as his head).  Grandpa Lybbert will be proud of that!!!  We think he looks a lot like Colton.  Can't tell yet what color his hair is...but that will come in the next week or so.  Mom and baby are both doing really well.  The surgery went flawlessly.  We're grateful for the fantastic doctors and anesthetist who performed so well.  Thanks for all your prayers!!!

Colton's 18 Months!

I can't believe I have an 18 month old kid.... and another one coming in just ONE WEEK! Colton had his doctors check up yesterday and he is developing perfectly! He is 33 inches and 21 pounds 12 ounces. That puts him in the 70% for height and the 4% for weight. His current favorite words are:
*Mommma
*Dad
* Go go go!
*Kitty

Funny things he does:
*If you ask him if your feet are stinky, he will bend down and take a big ol' sniff of your feet!
*He will stick his face in the water and pretend to swim while he is in the bath.
*If you ask him to show you his tough face, he scrunches his face and nose up (just like his angry face) on command.
*Anytime Parker says "I'm gonna get you!" He takes off running full speed down the hallway and goes and hides in our closet.
*If we are not sure whether or not he is ready for a nap, we just ask him and if he is tired, he runs to his crib and waits for you to pick him up and put him in!

Doctor's Appointment

I had a check up yesterday and everything is still looking good. The doctor was measuring my belly when he looked at me and said "You know, I am really glad we are doing a C-Section." I just giggled and said "Oh yeah, why's that?" And he replied with eyes the size of dinner plates "Because this is going to be a BIG baby. He will easily be pushing nine pounds by the time you deliver... I can't even imagine how big he would be if we let you go the full 40 weeks!" I didn't really have a response for that, I just laughed some  more. I have gained about 40 pounds this pregnancy which is down from 80 (no, that is not a typo) pounds with Colton. I was kind of thinking this baby would be smaller but I guess I am wrong. My date is still the same for delivery.... I am just crossing my fingers my water breaks early so I can get this kid out. I am basically carrying a 10 pound bag of potatoes around on my front side.... my back would like a break!

The Colton/Cougar Dance Off

Colton ALWAYS dances when he hears music. We have no idea where he picked it up but we always get a good giggle out of his smooth moves. We went to the boys basketball game where Parker coaches the JV girls and the pep band was playing some good tunes so Colton started to shake his groove thing. Although the team didn't win, we did get this gem of a video.... we tried hard to get Colton closer to the cougar mascot but that was as close as he would get without crying.
