The Wellness Check

Colton had his two month wellness check yesterday and he is as healthy as they come! He now weighs 13 pounds 11 ounces which puts him in the 90th percentile for weight. He has also stretched out to 24.5 inches, putting him in the 95th percentile for height! It's hard to believe that he has grown 3.5 inches and put on almost 5.5 pounds since he was born. That is just craziness. He did have to get three shots which just about broke my heart. I had to help hold his legs while the gave the shots and I couldn't hold back the tears. I have never seen him cry that hard. The nurse probably thought I was such softy when she noticed the tears running down my face. I think Parker is gonna have to go to the next appointment because I can't do that again.

In honor of being two months old, I think Colton decided it's time for him to start sleeping at night. He was quite fussy last night because of his shots, so when he fell asleep at 11, I just let him sleep even though I was supposed to feed him at 11:30. I had fed him at 9 in the evening and when he woke for his first feeding I was shocked. It was 4:45 in the morning! He went almost 8 hours, I couldn't believe it! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is going to become habit for him. I am a little nervous that the shots made him extra tired and that is what kept him sleeping for so long. I guess we will find out tonight.....

Nah, the nurse probably thought, "Good - she's a REAL MOM." I can't STAND it when my kids get shots but I'd rather be there. I'm sure peeps have already told you this but when he gets shots, have him on a paci or a bottle while they do it. Sometimes that helps. Note - I said "sometimes." Great to hear he's a happy, healthy & growing boy! Now, could he give some tips to D-man? He's in the 30th percential for H/W! Shrimp! lol!

I made Matt come with me for Tommy's shots for the first like 9 months of his life than I had to take over. It doesn't really get easier. The only advice that I can give is to give him tylenol before you leave for the appointment so it has a chance to set in. That seems to take the edge off a little for my kids. Love you all.
